Surplus to Supper

JP Dunn Construction Ltd has continued in its support of the charity Surplus to Supper with the provision of a new tarmac hardstanding adjacent to the Surplus Market and the refrigeration building at their Sunbury HQ.

Surplus to Supper is active in sourcing and redistributing surplus food that would otherwise have to go to landfill. This is on a substantial scale with the charity collecting and donating on average 3 tonnes of food per day and redistributing to foodbanks, schools, care homes, shelters, clubs, refuges, religious organisations and more.

The Surplus Market is an important component as it helps generate the funds for the redistribution effort. The market provides good quality food which would otherwise go to waste and is for everyone in the local community who needs fresh produce.
